Order fulfillment and kitting in Indianapolis
Your orders come in, our team picks, builds, packs, and ships, and your customers get what they ordered with tracking to prove it. B2B and B2C, since 2006.
Fulfillment services, by the work you need done
Most clients need more than one of these. They run on the same floor, with the same team, so you are not stitching vendors together.
Pick and Pack
Orders picked, packed, labeled, and shipped with tracking. Single-item consumer orders and multi-line business orders alike.

See kitting and co-packingKitting and co-packing: the work that happens before an order can ship
A lot of what we do is not picking at all. It is building. Components arrive from different suppliers on different days, and somebody has to turn them into one thing a customer can receive or a retailer can shelve.
That work is hands-on and it does not automate well. It is exactly why large 3PLs tend to decline it, and why it has been part of this business since 2006.
- Kitting: separate items gathered and packaged into one ready-to-ship unit, such as a welcome kit, a sample set, or a classroom pack.
- Assembly: components built into a single finished product or display before it goes out.
- Co-packing: retail-ready packs, multipacks, and promotional bundles built to your specification.
- Repackaging: product moved into new packaging, relabeled, or reconfigured for a different channel.
- Project work: one-time builds, seasonal programs, and launches that need a crew for a few weeks rather than a permanent line.
Kits get stored, picked, and shipped from the same building, so a finished kit does not have to move to a second vendor to reach a customer. Tell us what the kit contains and we will scope it.
Send orders the way you already work
No forced platform migration and no rigid file spec. We take orders through whichever channel fits your business.
Online order system
Enter and manage orders through our online order processing system, with visibility into activity through our warehouse software.
File upload and email
Send an Excel file or a plain email. Batch uploads work well for distributors and project-based shipping.
Shopping cart and phone
Connect your shopping cart feed, or let our full-service call center take phone and fax orders directly from your customers.
Once orders are in, everything else is nearby. Inventory sits in our warehouse, and our client-branded call center can answer your customers by name. Freight that needs to turn fast rather than sit moves through the dock instead.
From one author's book launch to national programs
Our fulfillment clients range from individual authors shipping their own titles to multimillion-dollar companies running ongoing programs. Publishers, distributors, medical supply companies, universities, printers, and disaster preparedness organizations have all shipped from our floor.
That range is the point. Projects that are too small, too fiddly, or too kitting-heavy for a big-box 3PL are the work we are built for. See the industries we serve, or tell us about yours.
One day of ground transit from here covers roughly 75% of the US population. That is the practical reason so much fulfillment work sits in central Indiana.

Common questions about 3PL fulfillment
What is kitting and co-packing?
Kitting is assembling multiple items into one ready-to-ship unit, such as a welcome kit, a product bundle, or a classroom set. Co-packing is packaging or repackaging product on a client's behalf, such as building retail-ready packs or promotional bundles. Value Added Resources has done both for publishers, distributors, and project-driven B2B clients in Indianapolis since 2006.
What is the difference between kitting and assembly?
In practice they overlap, and the line is about how finished the result is. Kitting usually means gathering separate sellable items into one packaged unit, where the components stay recognizable. Assembly usually means building components into a single finished product or display. We do both on the same floor, often within the same project.
How does 3PL fulfillment pricing work?
Third party logistics pricing is quote-driven because every operation is different. Pricing typically reflects storage space used, order volume, the labor in each order such as picking, kitting, or assembly, and packaging materials. We review your volumes and workflow, then quote pricing that fits your actual operation. There are no published flat rates because they rarely fit anyone well.
Do you handle both B2B and B2C fulfillment?
Yes. We fulfill business-to-business orders such as distributor and institutional shipments, and business-to-consumer orders shipped directly to end customers. Clients range from individual authors to multimillion-dollar companies.
How do my orders get to you?
However works best for you: our online order processing system, Excel file uploads, direct email, a shopping cart feed from your online store, or our call center, which takes phone and fax orders. We confirm delivery and provide tracking on what ships.
Is my business too small for a 3PL?
Probably not. Our client list has included individual authors shipping their own books alongside multimillion-dollar companies. If your orders have outgrown your garage, your back room, or your team's patience, that is usually the right time to talk to us.
